Cindy joined our team in 2023 as Program & Grants Manager. Cindy oversees after-school food literacy programs, grants, and the fellowship program, which helps college student interns develop the skills and knowledge needed for a career in food and nutrition education. 

Cindy has a background in Food & Nutrition. She earned her Dietetics degree from Cal Poly Pomona. She has been working in the Sacramento community for more than six years, providing access to nutritious food and nutrition education to those in need. She is passionate about addressing food insecurity and promoting healthy eating habits for young learners.

Cindy grew up in South Sacramento, attended some of the schools served by Food Literacy Center, and is fluent in Hmong, a language many of our students speak. Cindy’s journey with the Food Literacy Center began as part of the first Americorps cohort in 2017, leading an after-school program, and now, she has come full circle to be a part of our staff team. We are thrilled to have her with us and inspired by her dedication to our mission.
