Expanding Our Hands-on Education
At Food Literacy Center, we are creating a supportive environment to ensure our students’ success in and out of the classroom!
Each week, our garden educator Radish Rebekah, teaches our Leataata Elementary students how to plant seeds. These fun lessons encourage students not only to grow food but to h-apple-y eat what they harvest!
Studies show that access to green space is directly linked to better health–improved mental health, focus, creativity, academic performance, reduction of anxiety, and more. Educating our students about growing their own food increases their likelihood of eating fruits and vegetables as adults!
