Sean is a double transplant to Sacramento, first in 1990, and then again in 2020. During his first stint, he encountered a farmers market in César Chávez Plaza. Exposure to the beauty and diversity of California’s abundant produce was an epiphanous moment, and sent him on a decades-long journey to explore the universe of food. 

He grew up the only child of a single mother who, above and beyond putting herself through school and working, always strived to put homemade meals on the table. This instilled in him an awareness of the power of fresh food as a tool to self-empowerment. In time, he became a professional food writer, ultimately focusing on food preservation. It became his passion to gain and impart deeper understanding of techniques that extend the longevity and therefore value of all foods, from produce to proteins. 

Today, Sean lives and works with his husband, Realtor® dpaul brown, and their terrier mix, Giro, in their South Land Park home. He oversees all operational aspects, including marketing, finance, and compliance, of their real estate business that serves the Sacramento region and the San Francisco Bay Area.
