Sophia joined Food Literacy Center in January 2023 as a Cooking Educator. Since then, she has transitioned into the role of Development Associate, where she supports fundraising efforts, donor relations, and event coordination to secure financial support for the organization’s mission and programs. Additionally, she leads the Food Adventure Recipe Kit distribution program.

Sophia holds bachelor’s degrees in both Sociology and Political Science from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. After graduating, she worked as a Farm to School Education Coordinator for San Luis Coastal USD before returning to Sacramento, her hometown.

Sophia is passionate about food equity, inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards, and fostering community connections. Outside of work, Sophia enjoys all things outdoors, cooking and hosting dinner parties, and thrifting!
