Daikon Dave loves teaching Sacramento elementary school kids how to cook and eat fresh fruits and vegetables. He has over 6 years of experience as a certified food literacy instructor. As Program & Operations Coordinator, he works with farmers and vendors to ensure the highest quality of food and education that our kids deserve and develops new recipes for our kids to enjoy.

David first came to Food Literacy Center as a program intern in 2015 after getting his Associates’s degree in Nutrition and Food from Cosumnes River College. After seeing a need to empower kids to make their own choices about eating healthy, he served Food Literacy Center for two terms as an AmeriCorps member before accepting the Program & Operations Coordinator position.

David feels it is incredible to see our kids eat a fruit or veggie they have not tried before.
